Lovely post over on Musing About Mud on UK potter Lisa Hammond’s “Adopt a Potter” initiative. There’s a gap in what you can learn in most school settings and what you need to know to run a studio making your own line of work. Apprenticeship programs that ground the novice in strong practices- like Berea’s, where I studied - are uncommon, and few potters take on apprentices.

Do any of you Divers know of potters who are currently working with apprentices here in the States? Or apprenticeship programs in addition to Berea College?
